Alejandra Colmenero

Alejandra Tomes Colmenero has been deeply involved in the non-profit sector since 2011, beginning with her volunteer work with UNICEF USA to combat human trafficking and raise awareness about global issues affecting children. Her dedication to UNICEF's mission led her to establish the first UNICEF college chapter in Denver at the Metropolitan State University (MSU) and later launch the first UNICEF Unite team in Colorado.

Alejandra's advocacy for children's rights has taken her to both Washington, DC and local districts, where she had worked directly with Congress members to drive legislative change. Her passion for social impact extended to local nonprofit work, leading her to join the Colorado Latino Leadership Advocacy Research Organization (CLLARO). At CLLARO, she initially coordinated the Capitol Fellowship Program (CFP) and is now the Director of Leadership Development, where she continues to empower and develop future leaders.

In addition to her nonprofit work, Alejandra pursues a creative outlet as an actor in television commercials, social media campaigns, and print modeling for various businesses.

Alejandra holds a B.A. in Hospitality, Tourism and Events from Metropolitan State University of Denver, and an MBA from the University of Northern Colorado. She lives in Colorado with her husband, Chad, their children, and their "fur-baby". Outside of work, Alejandra enjoys cooking, baking, yoga, spending time outdoors, and actively participating in her community.
