History
The Circle of Latina Leadership (CCL) was begun in 2001 by a group of seasoned Latina leaders and initiated by founder Juana Bordas. These leaders recognized the important role their relationships and networks had played not only in helping and supporting one another, but in the advancement of the Latino community as a whole. Leadership was recognized as a collective effort. The impetus to start the Circle was to advance this network when Latinas were emerging as leaders and hasten their ability to work together and support one another in their leadership capacity.

Vision
The overall vision of CLL is to:
- To prepare the next generation of Latina leaders through leadership development and mentoring
- To foster a network of Latina leaders that is inter-generational and to connect emerging leaders with seasoned leaders
- To build a critical mass of emerging Latina leaders- a network that will work collaboratively towards community advancement
